George Corbett Motors Crowned Overall Škoda Dealer of the Year 2026

We are beyond proud to share that George Corbett Motors has been named the overall Škoda Dealer of the Year for 2026. To take home the overall top title is a massive milestone for our team on the Cork Road. Over the past year, we’ve topped the charts across the board - from new car sales and electric vehicle adoption to top marks in our customer satisfaction surveys.

Putting Down Roots in Waterford

It’s been an incredible period for the brand locally. Škoda is now proudly the #2 most-purchased car brand in Waterford, and seeing such a massive surge in sales over the last year is brilliant. With the strength and variety in the current Škoda lineup, it’s fast becoming the go-to choice for drivers right across the county - and what a way to celebrate our tenth year as Waterford's main Skoda dealer.

Why People Make the Trip to the Cork Road

Awards and sales charts are great, but for us, it always comes back to the people.

We’ve been fortunate enough to look after families who have bought their cars with us for years and decades. But what always blows us away is how many people now travel past other options to buy from us - coming from Kilkenny, Tipperary, Cork, and Wexford just for the experience we provide. We’ve never believed in hard-selling; our entire focus is simply on listening, giving honest guidance, and making sure you're looked after properly from the minute you walk through the door.

That commitment to local retail is also why we're so proud to have been shortlisted for Retail Excellence at the Waterford Chamber Business Awards this year.

"Winning the overall Škoda Dealer of the Year award is an extraordinary honour for our entire team," said George Corbett. "As we celebrate over three decades of serving motorists in Waterford, this award is a testament to the hard work, product knowledge, and relationship-first focus of our entire team, as well as the unwavering loyalty of our customers throughout Waterford and beyond."

A Massive Thank You

At the end of the day, an award like this belongs to the whole team here on the floor and in the workshop who show up and graft for our customers every single day.

Most of all, it belongs to you - our wonderful customers who have bought a car from us, dropped in for a service, or sent a friend our way. Thank you for your continued trust, your loyalty, and for being part of the story here in Waterford. We can't wait to keep looking after you on the road ahead.
